Relaxing Thai Massage with oil
Relaxing Thai Oil Massage is a delicate massage technique. Unlike the Traditional Thai Massage, of the Wat Po temple or of the Chiang Mai school, which is performed on the futon without the use of oils, the Relaxing Thai Massage with oil involves the use of special massage oils, and is performed on a cot.
For this reason, the Thai massage with oil is very relaxing and the technique involves, in addition to the friction with the oil, some acupressure with sliding on the body and gentle, passive, but deep stretches.
The areas affected are those located along the energy meridians which, unlike the meridians of Traditional Chinese Medicine, are called Sen and are 10 in number. The technique is used to rebalance alterations and painful psychophysical states, with the aim of promoting regeneration of body and mind. By stimulating the 10 lines called Sen, through massages with pressure, friction or stretching, the various internal organs to which they are connected are reached, obtaining toning.
This massage technique involves the treatment of different areas, bringing relaxation and well-being at a local and general level. People who receive it sometimes they doze off, because the massage is pleasant and light, transporting them into a state of deep relaxation and awareness.
The operator’s manipulations are very slow and deep, and therefore reactivate the vital energy of our body, eliminating stress through the stimulation of endorphins and facilitating sleep by promoting the production of melatonin. Furthermore, all the muscles of the body are obviously involved, freeing them from contractures and tensions and restoring the functionality of the joints and connective tissue. Massage if performed regularly, acts on the lymphatic system, activating the drainage of liquids, which helps reduce cellulite and skin diseases, with a positive effect on the immune system, for the expulsion of free radicals and toxins. This technique was developed by the doctor therapist Jivaka Kumar Bhacca, who was a personal friend and follower of the Buddha 2,500 years ago. The oils used for this type of massage are herbal or flower oils, specifically jasmine, coconut, almond and ylang ylang oil, widely used in Thailand.
In particular, the Relaxing Thai Massage with oil helps to:
• reduce stress;
• improve the quality of rest and sleep;
• tone muscles and improve posture;
• relieve muscle pain, low back, back and shoulder pain;
• reduce muscle tension;
• stimulate the tone and flexibility of muscles and tendons; • strengthen the immune system;
• drainage of the lymphatic system and improvement of blood circulation; • physical and mental relaxation; • drain toxins and excess fluids;
• balance the flow of vital energy and open the Chakras.
As we have seen, the benefits go far beyond a simple relaxing massage, but achieve multiple objectives on a psychophysical level.
